Summary/Objective

Ensure operators are knowledgeable, skilled, and adhere to safety protocols when operating heavy machinery.

  • Ensure all RIM sites are compliant with safety and education related to yard equipment and operators.
  • Must be able to safely operate all heavy equipment in the yard
  • Training Program Development:
  • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions for new and existing operators.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all training programs emphasize and enforce strict adherence to safety guidelines, regulations, and best practices.
  • Skills Assessment and Evaluation: Assess the skill levels of operators through written exams, practical assessments, and observations.
  • Equipment Maintenance Training: Provide training on equipment maintenance and repair procedures to operators, focusing on routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, evaluations, and certifications.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in regulations related to heavy equipment operation and safety.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as operations and safety to ensure training programs align with organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to operators, acting as a resource for questions, concerns, and skill development. F

Competencies

  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of operation of cranes, skid loaders, pay loaders, shear, mag crane, shredder and baler
  • Proven Leadership and the ability to positively motivate a team
  • Problem solving abilities.

Education and Experience

  •  2 years experience operating and training on heavy equipment is preferred
  •  HS Diploma required.
